Common Questions
A clear starting point for your questions about Foundations, tuition, and learning at J-Way.
Who is Foundations for?
Adults 18 and older who want structured biblical formation and practical ministry development. You do not need prior ordination or a ministry title.
When and where are classes?
The first cohort is planned for January 4–February 22, 2027: eight Monday Zoom classes, 7:30–8:30 p.m. PST. Joining details are shared privately with enrolled students. Applications and enrollment are not yet open.
How much time should I plan each week?
Plan one hour of live class plus approximately three to five hours for reading, passage study, practical work, and a written knowledge check. Written revisions and capstone work continue after the last live class.
What does Foundations cost?
Foundations tuition is $125, payable in full or two $62.50 installments. The first installment is due after acceptance and before January 4; the second is due February 1. Required school-provided materials, instruction, assessment, feedback, and the digital completion certificate are included. There is no application fee.
The first cohort has 15 places, including two full-scholarship places. Assistance requires confirmation; requesting it does not reserve a place.
Does Foundations count toward the complete program?
Yes. Its $125 tuition is fully credited toward the $600 complete program, leaving $475 if you continue. The complete program has 39 lessons across four tracks. Later-track dates will be announced separately, and complete-program payments are not currently available.
Will I receive a certificate or be ordained?
A completion certificate follows successful completion of the required coursework and assessments. Ordination or affirmation is a separate discernment process with Apostle Jones and a ministry council. Payment or course completion does not guarantee it. Experienced ministers may request an earlier review.
How is my work assessed?
Apostle Jones uses instructor review and feedback, not AI grading. The published weighting is knowledge checks 15%, passage studies 20%, practical work 30%, and capstone 35%. Completion requires at least 75% overall, each knowledge check passed, all required work graded, and essential practical care and consent demonstrated.
What if I miss a class or need accessible materials?
Contact Apostle Jones privately to discuss written lessons, an instructor-arranged discussion, an equivalent practice activity, or an extension. Recordings are not promised. An absence does not automatically waive coursework or completion requirements.
Can I withdraw and receive a refund?
The Foundations policy includes a full-refund period, proportional earned tuition after that period, and cancellation of unearned installments. A proposed $10 administrative deduction remains subject to the policy’s conditions and permitted treatment.
Read the full withdrawal and refund policy before enrolling.
How do I apply or contact the school?
Applications are not open. The target window is November 16–December 21, 2026, subject to readiness. The application-status page will explain when submissions are available. Questions: admissions@jwaysoa.com.
